A STUNNING matte black Batmobile has gone up for auction with a one-of-a-kind "GOTHAM" number plate.

The custom Batman inspired motor has a double rear wing spoiler and is based on a second-generation Mercedes-Benz CL 55 AMG Kleemann.

Creating the motoring masterpiece alone cost a whopping £270,000 with bids expected to soar upwards from that when it goes under the hammer.

Incredible pictures show the black 2024 AVG Batmobile - reminiscent of the Gotham superhero's actual movie car - with floating wheel fenders and giant wheels.

The alliance heavy-duty tires measure a giant 500/60-22.5 on the rears making the car a menacing force to be reckoned with on the roads.

Other key features include LED exterior lighting including animated turn signals, a vented hood, side assist steps, flip-up entry doors with integrated windshields and a dual exhaust.

And it is all powered by a supercharged 5.4-litre V8 engine making nearly 500 horsepower that would make The Dark Knight proud.

For comic book fans there is even a dual simulated machine gun turret on board.

But one of the most remarkable pieces on the car is the GOTHAM registration plate on the back.

Inside, the designer has kept things classy and simplistic with a smooth black leather.

Modelled of a Mercedes CL 55 AMG cabin there is also a carbon fibre Bride bucket seats, OMP 4-point racing harnesses and a leather-wrapped 3-spoke Momo steering wheel.

The Mercedes donor engine had 93,206 miles on its odometer when it was taken to be used in the Batmobile.

No guide price has been set as of yet with the car due to be available at auction on November 21.
