Yorkshire Ripper wants VIP treatment so ex-wife Sonia’s first visit in four years is private to avoid ‘prying eyes’

THE Yorkshire Ripper wants VIP treatment so his ex-wife’s first visit to him in more than four years is private.
Peter Sutcliffe, 73, hopes to avoid “prying eyes”.
Sonia, 69, has been in discussions with jail bosses about arrangements for the reunion. But the serial killer reckons it should take place away from the main visiting hall where other inmates meet loved ones.
He thinks he merits preferential treatment for all visits.
Sutcliffe claims Soham killer Ian Huntley and Milly Dowler’s murderer Levi Bellfield have certain arrangements for their visits at Frankland prison in Durham and whinged: “I’m higher profile than they are.”
Sonia vowed in 1981 to stand by Sutcliffe when he was convicted of 13 murders and seven attempted murders.
She kept the vow for years — even after they divorced in 1994 and she married hairdresser Michael Woodward in 1997. But she has not seen the monster since December 2015.

Sutcliffe has blamed her new husband and the Press for the lack of visits.
A source said: “He shouldn’t get treated differently just because he’s done more bad things than anyone else.”
The Prison Service said: “We do not allow private visits.”
