Four vegan pals die in head-on horror crash on death stretch dubbed The Road to Hell
Close pals had spent the weekend at Bristol's VegFest before fatal collision
FOUR friends heading home from a vegan festival were killed after a horror head-on crash on a notorious stretch dubbed The Road to Hell.
Brogan Warren, Sam Kay, Nicoletta Tocco and Krop Jones died instantly when their blue Citroen Saxo hit a Mercedes.
A couple, 30s, in the other car and a three-year-old boy were also badly hurt in the smash but survived.
The tragic four, mid 20s, of Northampton had spent Sunday at Bristol’s VegFest.
The crash happened as they were half way home on the A420 at Shrivenham, Oxon
Keith Alex paid tribute saying: "Very tragic.
"The Road To Hell claims four more lives.
"It was labelled way back in the 1960s and it still claims lives as so little has been done to improve it.
"Condolences to the families affected."
Pal Jessica Cimetta added: "Things will never be the same, we will miss your beautiful faces 'til the end of time.
"RIP to the loveliest people I know.
Another Elle Moore added: "So sad.
"I used to drive on this road when I come back to Northampton and was very close to where I had my crash.
"Brogan was the happiest and sweetest girl and it's such a shame."
More than 50 friends of the four who lost their lives held a vigil on Monday night where they lit candles and released lanterns in their memory.
Entry fees from a music event run by friends is set to be sent to tragic Nicoletta’s family in Italy to repatriate her body.
Organisers of Basstravaganza said: "It's a very sad day.
"We've all lost four great friends.
"They were always seen having a great time on our nights.”
In 2008 a 51-year-old cyclist was killed one the A420.
Three others were hurt in a two-car crash in 2011.
Susan Hedges added: "I hate that road.
"Always seems to be accidents along it. RIP."
Peter Hughes said: "Its a b***** dangerous road, you can just imagine what happened."
The three hurt in the crash were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Det Sgt Gavin Collier, of Thames Valley Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "This was a terrible incident in which four young people have lost their lives.
"We would urge anyone who was driving in the area last night and saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision to get in contact.”
A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 11.15pm to a report of a two car collision.
“We sent a number of vehicles and a doctor was also in attendance.
“Four people were sadly confirmed dead at the scene.
“Three others, two adults and a child, were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries.”
It comes after Maria Strydom, 34, died climbing Mount Everest at the weekend trying to prove vegans could complete extreme physical challenges.
The father of tragic Krop – real name Sam – paid tribute to him.
Stuart, 50, said: “Its with a heavy heart I have to tell all my friends that my beautiful, happy son Sam died last night, along with three of his wonderful friends in a car accident.
“My heart goes out to all the families and friends at this hard time.”
Holly Joseph, 25 – a close pal of Brogan – said: "Words can't even explain, my heart goes out to everyone.
“I know we're all hurting, rip beautiful fairy.”
