The Sun Orchestra keeps Russian team up all night to boost our hopes of glory in big match

THE Sun yesterday unleashed a secret weapon to help England beat the Russians  — our Band of Hope and Glory.

Unleashing a crack team of musicians, the Russian team got a rude awakening as The Sun orchestra blasted their hotel rooms with a night-time rendition of Land of Hope and Glory.

Putin’s men woke as the patriotic ensemble - played by our lion-hearted band - filled the crisp air around their plush 4-star base.

Flora Allison, 32, on cello, said: “We gave the Russian team a nice little wake up call and a taste of English pride - and then got shoved around by a French police officer.

“We’ll definitely have woken up the Russian team - I think they’ll find it very funny but they could probably have done with the sleep.”

Our team faced down heavily armed French cops as they belted out a rendition of the English favourite just yards from rooms at the upmarket Renaissance Hotel located near Paris.

And the band kept playing even as the police barked orders and warned players would be woken by our musical interlude.

Our bombshell intervention is sure to give England’s heroes, led by Wayne Rooney, the edge by “Putin off” their Russian rivals.

Charlotte Stock, 36, on Viola, said: “The Russians will be suitably flustered - we’ve ruffled their Russian feathers.

“Now it’s time for the England boys to do their jobs on Saturday.”

The stunt is The Sun’s second swipe at Russia ahead of our crunch opener in Marseilles today.

This week we goaded a nuclear armed sub which shamelessly buzzed the English coast by sailing up the channel.

Our Jamie Vardy lookalike - dressed as Admiral Lord Nelson - buzzed them back leaving the crew on deck dumbstruck.
