THE devastated husband of murdered MP Jo Cox has helped raised more than £300,000 overnight for his wife's favourite charities.
Brendan Cox tweeted his 11,000 followers a link to a Go Fund Me page last night which will help protect people in Syria, tackle loneliness and fight extremism.
The 41-year-old mum-of-two - MP for Batley and Spen in West Yorkshire - was gunned down in her constituency in broad daylight on Thursday afternoon.
The total - which currently stands at £307,000 - will be donated to three charities close to Jo's heart: The Royal Voluntary Service, HOPE not hate and The White Helmets.
A message posted on the read: "We are overwhelmed by everyone's incredible generosity and so grateful for all your donations... thank you for your patience and support for Jo."

Brendan, a political activist and former adviser to Gordon Brown, tweeted: "Protecting people in Syria, tackling loneliness& fighting extremism; some of the causes Jo fought 4.
"U can help here."
Jo was shot three times and knifed another seven times shortly after 1pm on Thursday.
Tommy Mair, a mentally ill loner, is in police custody after the MP was shot in the head and stabbed repeatedly with a foot-long knife.
Witnesses claim Jo, 41, was dragged to the floor by her hair and then gunned down at point-blank range by a man armed with an antique pistol.

Witnesses told how the alleged killer, identified as Thomas Mair, 52, calmly stood over her and reloaded each time before executing Jo with a final bullet to the head.
Her last words were "my pain is too much" as she lay dying in the street.
The well-respected MP's assistant Fazila Aswat held her in her arms as she took her last few breaths – just moments after being shot and stabbed in a horrifying attack.
Last night her husband Brendan issued a heartfelt statement saying the world needed to “fight against the hatred that killed her”.
