The report warned of rising aggression by far-right nationalists and an increase in Islamophobia in the last year.

Watchdog Tell Mama - an organisation which monitors anti-Muslim incidents – said it worked with the MP for Batley and Spen on the issue of rising attacks.

Jo was planning to address parliament later this month on the issue, reports.

The study is expected to conclude that there were about 80 per cent more attacks on Muslims in Britain in 2015 than the year before.

In the video Jo reveals that anti-Islam attitudes are so bad in her constituency that “many of our young women don’t feel safe when they’re out on the street”.

It is reported that concerns about far-right extremism in the area were so great that the local council asked Tell Mama for help in tackling the issue.

Labour MP Jo, 41, was gunned down and stabbed as she headed to a constituency meeting last Thursday.

Tommy Mair, 52, the man charged with murdering her, gave his name as “death to traitors, freedom for Britain” when he appeared in court over the weekend.

Witnesses have claimed that Mr Mair, who had allegedly been a supporter of an American neo-Nazi group, yelled “Britain first” during the attack.

Former charity worker Jo was well known for her commitment to causes such as the plight of Syrian refugees.

Fiyaz Mughal, director of Tell Mama, said: “In the last 18 months South Yorkshire is one of the leading areas in the country [for Islamaphobic incidents].”

He said the charity's annual report would detail an increase in anti-Muslim activity in the UK last year.

Mr Mughal added: “The video shows the person that she was — standing up for what was right and for tough campaigns that may not be that popular, such as tackling Islamophobia.”

Cops were in the process of boosting security for MP Jo Cox in the months leading up to her murder.

She had reported receiving a series of persistent harassing messages to police.

Jo’s assistant Fazila Aswat had ran to her side following the brutal attacked and  pleaded: “Jo, get up.” But Jo sobbed: “The pain is too much. I can’t make it.”

Bernard Kenny, 77, was hailed a hero after rugby tackling the gunman during Thursday’s attack.

Following her death Mrs Cox's distraught husband posted a heartbreaking photo of his late wife.

He paid tribute to her in a touching message and tweeted he had taken their children camping in her memory.

Jo’s younger sister  Kim Leadbeater, 40,  fought back tears as she gave a poignant, five-minute speech  in  Birstall, West Yorks.

She said: "She will live on for all the good people in the world, through (her husband) Brendan, through us, and through her truly wonderful children who will always know what an utterly amazing woman their mother was.

“She was a human being. She was perfect.”

Speaking about Jo Cox's death Prime Minister David Cameron said: "Two children have lost their mother and a husband has lost his loving wife.

"Parliament has lost one of its most passionate campaigners and the nation is shocked."

Thomas Mair, 52, from Birstall, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday charged with murdering Mrs Cox, grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a knife.
