English teacher banned from the classroom after telling his pupils Dr Who actor John Barrowman was a ‘c***’
Kieran Patel, 28, barred from teaching after foul-mouthed rant at Teesdale School in Barnard Castle, Co Durham

A TEACHER has been banned from teaching after telling pupils that actor John Barrowman was a “c***”.
In a bizarre reversal of roles, Kieran Patel, 28, was ordered to leave the classroom – indefinitely – for using the foul and inappropriate language.
A professional conduct panel heard Patel had been talking to pupils at Teesdale School in Barnard Castle, Co Durham, about acting at the time of the comments.
A witness who spoke to the students said he moved on to speaking about famous people he claimed to know, when he used the expletive to describe the British-American TV star.
The panel heard: “The pupils also told her that Mr Patel had said words along the lines of getting his mansion ‘by riding old men’s c***s’.”
Barrowman – who starred in TV favourite Dr Who and Torchwood, as well as featuring in Hollywood blockbuster Zero Dark Thirty – is openly gay.

The teacher – who taught English and performing arts – said he didn’t remember using any such foul language to describe the actor.
But he confessed he was “prone to making inappropriate comments and it was possible that these words were used by him”.
The panel in Coventry said it was satisfied Patel had probably used the words he was accused of using.
And they slammed the teacher for their inappropriate nature due to their sexual content.
The National College for Teaching banned him indefinitely from teaching, branding his actions deliberate and accusing him of bringing the profession into disrepute.
Patel was sacked from his job at Teesdale in March 2011 after just a month, following his foul-mouthed rant.
However, on his CV he later claimed to have worked at the school for more than two years.
It has also been revealed that the teacher was convicted of fraud in 2015 after falsifying documents to support petty cash claims worth more than £840.
