A RAPE suspect took a seven-year-old girl hostage during a terrifying armed stand-off in a Burger King.
The young girl was one of four held at gunpoint by the man in Baltimore, Maryland, on Sunday afternoon.
All hostages were eventually released after a tense stand-off lasting several hours.
They included a 67-year-old man, a restaurant worker, 17, and the branch’s 25-year-old manager.
Speaking after the gunman – who has not been identified – released the quartet, police chief T.J. Smith said: “He made the decision to do the right thing and that was not harm anyone.

"I think he was exhausted and ready to come out. This was a situation that was the result of a poor decision that was made."
Police armed with rifles had surrounded the fast food restaurant, taking cover behind their cars for fear of the situation deteriorating into a shooting match.
Images of him emerged from the Burger King with his armed raised were caught on live TV.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and is now in police custody.
The man had earlier fled from police have being approached for questioning in connection with rape allegations made two days earlier.
He eventually ran into the Burger King after a high-speed car chase with police through Baltimore.
Speaking from the scene before the stand-off was ended peacefully, Smith said: “'Our ultimate goal is to end this peacefully for all parties.”
