SamCam’s sister Emily Sheffield defends David Cameron’s record in Twitter attack on Theresa May
British Vogue's deputy editor has slammed the new PM's 'depressingly cynical' approach

DAVID Cameron’s sister-in-law launched a blistering attack on Theresa May today as she defended his record as Prime Minister.
Emily Sheffield – Samantha Cameron’s sister who is deputy editor of posh fashion mag British Vogue - used a string of tweets to slam Mrs May’s “depressingly cynical approach” just days after taking office.
The rant started as she linked to a tweet by Spectator editor Fraser Nelson, which noted “Labour clichés being slapped on Tory announcements” about today’s job figures, and the “hint that Cameroons were for the few”.
Ms Sheffield – whose dad is major landowner and 8th baronet of Normanby Sir Reginald Sheffield – began: “@theresa_may may be trying to say Cameroons were for privileged few but facts state different and she was in Cabinet.”
She went on: “Why can’t @theresa_may make clear last six years was great start but still lots to do? Rather than disparage the past merely to elevate her.”

And she continued: “I think it continues to show a depressingly cynical approach; we did not do enough but will do more would be healthier dialogue.”
New PM Mrs May has put governing “for every one of us” and not just “a privileged few” at the heart of her new administration.
It has been seen as a dig at Old Etonian Mr Cameron and the close circle of friends he surrounded himself with in power.
Ms Sheffield’s online postings got her into trouble in 2013 when she shared a picture of Mr Cameron asleep in the bridal suite of her sister Alice Sheffield.
Aides said the PM was taking a “power nap” and Ms Sheffield branded herself an “idiot” for making the snap public.
