A HUGE 6.1 magnitude earthquake as struck off the coast of Australia.
Early information says the quake struck at a depth of nine miles and 1,058 miles off the coast of Queenstown at 8.58am UK time.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) put the quake at 5.9, with a depth of 6.2 miles.
The quake had been reported as "potentially tsunamigenic" but they no longer believe there is tsunami risk.

The earthquake comes just three weeks after a 5.5 magnitude quake struck off the coast of Western Australia, the states largest in almost 30 years.
