Tourists banned from taking bags onto Cannes beaches in France over terror attack fears
Move comes after country was rocked by attack in Nice and priest was murdered in a church in northern France
HOLIDAYMAKERS soaking up the sun in Cannes have been banned from taking bags on the beach - amid fears ISIS are planning to hit France with further terror attacks.
Security chiefs in the country are concerned jihadis might try to smuggle "weapons or explosives" on the beach to commit a mass atrocity.
Cannes, famous for it's popularity with A-list celebs and the super rich, is now subject to a ban covering promenades, boulevards, and walkways.
Bags will also not be allowed around the marina where luxury multi-million pound yachts are moored.
The Mayor's office has taken the step in a direct response to the terrorist threat, the Mirror Online reports.

Sunbathers are urged to carry transparent bags if they need to, and it has even been reported that those who flout the rules will be arrested.
French journalist Matthias Galante shared the news of the ban on bags in Cannes.
The Cannes Mayor's office has confirmed the ban is in place but nobody has been available for a comment.
Tensions are high in France where 234 people have died in terror attacks in the last 18 months.
On Thursday July 14 - the day of France's Bastille Day celebrations - Mohammed Lahouaiej Bouhlel drove his truck through a crowd and slaughtered 84 people.

French media reported that the jihadi's mobile phone records revealed he dabbled in alcohol and drugs.
Seven suspects are in custody over links to the mass murderer.
More than 200 French cops are working on the case, and have learned Bouhlel scouted the area to work out the best way to carry out the attack.
