Blind man rescued by fellow passengers on the London Underground when he fell off platform in path of rush hour train

HEROIC commuters saved the life of a blind man who tumbled on to the tracks of a busy tube station in front of an oncoming train.
The man was switching from the Metropolitan Line to the Jubilee Line at Finchley Road when he fell off the platform.
Two commuters flagged down station staff who cut the power to the line halting the approaching train.
Passengers and staff then helped the man to safety.
Jack Mendel saw the man fall as he stood on the other side of the platform shortly before 8:30am.

The 23-year-old told the Evening Standard: "I heard a loud thud and someone shout 'oh my god' or something to that effect.
"People rushed to help him back onto the platform, some on my train got off to help.
"It was a moment of panic. About seven or eight people rushed to help him back up."
Transport For London (TFL) said the man "wasn't injured at all" following the incident, and the two passengers shot off on the next train before staff could thank them.
A TFL spokeswoman said: "A blind man who has a stick was travelling from the Metropolitan Line to the Jubilee Line, which is a journey he makes every day.
"Unfortunately he fell onto the tracks and the power was immediately stopped.
"Two people who were stood next to him helped him up before station officials arrived."
