Yob arrested after storming into fast food restaurant wielding a machete
Cops called to McDonald’s in Welling, South East London, after reports of man armed with large blade scaring customers

A MACHETE-wielding maniac who stormed into a fast food restaurant has been arrested, police have said.
Cops were called to McDonald’s in Welling, South East London at 11.50am this morning after receiving reports about a man waving a large blade around in front of terrified customers.
When officers arrived at the scene they found the suspect had run away.
But a short time later, cops were able to find and arrest a man nearby.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “There are no reported injuries.
“The man was taken to a South London police station and remains in custody.”

He added: “The case is not terror-related and inquiries continue.”
A number of shops along the street were reported to have been cordoned off while police investigated.
A McDonald’s spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that an incident occurred in our Welling store this morning.
“No-one was injured, the police investigation is ongoing therefore we cannot comment further at this time.”
