THIS is the frightening moment a young boy is almost mauled by his neighbour's dog - after he jumped over their garden wall to retrieve his ball.
When the young lad leaped over the wall in his back garden in Brazil he had no idea he was putting his life at risk.

At first all seems well but just seconds later he encounters an angry dog that charges at him from across the yard.
Captured by sheer terror, the boy scrambles to escape the garden, begging his friends to pull him up over the wall and away from the feisty canine.

The video clip, which was posted on today and has already been viewed more than 7,000 times, shows the boy cautiously stepping into his next door neighbour's back garden - his mates egging him on from the safety of the brick wall they're sitting on.

As if knowing what's going to happen next his pals can be heard to begin barking as the youngster goes deeper into the yard.
It's only as he does so that he sees a black dog shoot out of a kennel in the distance, firing towards him at speed.

The lad rushes back to the wall, the mut snapping at his heels, as he's grabbed and pulled up by his friends who are roaring with laughter.
The dog even snaps at the boy's shorts as he dangles helplessly from the wall.
