Cops’ shock at finding foot long RAT strung up by noose with a rolled-up cigarette in its mouth

The privately-owned land is strewn with used needles, dog waste and other litter and is known to be regularly visited by drug users and alcoholics

HORRIFIED coppers were stunned when they found a foot-long rat strung up by its neck with a half-smoked ROLL-UP CIG sticking out of its mouth yesterday.

The corpse was found hanging by its neck in Bushbury, West Mids, by members of the Bushbury/Oxley Neighbourhood Policing Team in an area 'blighted' by anti-social behaviour.

The privately-owned land is strewn with used needles, dog waste and other litter and is known to be regularly visited by drug users and alcoholics.

Sergeant Gavin Plumridge said: "We are working with the council and the land owners to get the piece of land secured to prevent drug users and alcoholics congregating and causing a nuisance to local residents."

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said that this gruesome discovery was the latest in a long line of problems residents in the area had experienced for a number of years.

She said: "Officers are in the process of getting a Domehawk mobile surveillance camera so they can capture some evidence and put that forward to get the land secured.

"The pictures show the issues residents are facing."
