SHOCKING footage shows a drunken air passenger bound and strapped to a seat after punching a flight attendant in the face.

The violent incident occurred on an Aeroflot flight from the island of Sakhalinsk, off Russia's eastern coast, to Moscow.

The drunken man continues to argue with staff after he is restrained

The captain reportedly tried to convince the passenger, named as Maxim G., to calm down and return to his seat after staff complained about his behaviour.

But, instead the plastered passenger lost his temper and punched one of the stewards in the head.

Concerned passengers rushed to help the cabin crew restrain the belligerent man before his wrists were tied behind his back with duct tape from the galley.

He was then strapped him into a flight attendant's seat to keep him away from other travellers.

The incident was filmed by another passenger and has quickly went viral since being uploaded to social media.
