A WOMAN in Russia has made the extraordinary claim that she was raped by a Pokemon Go monster - and that she used the app to catch the creature hiding in her bedroom.
The unidentified woman lodged a formal complaint with police after her husband dismissed her bizarre claims as "sick".
The woman, from the capital Moscow, fell asleep in her room while playing the hugely popular augmented reality game.
Despite it being a physical impossibility, according to , she suddenly woke from her slumber to discover the creature raping her.

She claimed the animal disappeared when she woke up - but using the app, her phone was able to identify it sitting on her bed.
Her initial concerns were dismissed by her husband, who described his wife's claims as "sick".
She then went to police - who also dismissed her complaint and convinced her to see a psychologist.

Ivan Makarov, a man in Russia who is friends with the unidentified woman, recently tried to marry his "beautiful" favourite Pokemon.
His application for a certificate, however, was declined by marriage authorities.
