Protesters torched businesses and fired gunshots

A POLICE shooting has sparked further protests in America with gunshots fired at squad cars and businesses set ablaze.
Violence erupted in the US city of Milwaukee after a police officer shot and killed an armed man in an impoverished, predominantly African-American community.
Mulwaukee police said a uniformed officer opened fire while chasing a 23-year-old man after a traffic stop. Neither the race of the suspect or officer were disclosed by police.
Several hours after the shooting a crowd of more than 100 people, smashed the windows of an unoccupied squad car and set another on fire.
said at least four other businesses, including a petrol station, were set alight.
Firefighters struggled to keep the fires under control because shots were being fired.

Alderman Khalif Rainey said: "This is a warning cry. Black people of Milwaukee are tired. They are tired of living under this oppression."
Mayor Tom Barrett called for calm following the protests, predominantly organised through social media.
He said: "This stop took place because two officers ... saw suspicious activity.
"There were 23 rounds in that gun that that officer was staring at. I want to make sure we don't lose any police officers in this community, either."
Milwaukee Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton joined Mr Barrett's calls. He said: "We understand the frustration people feel with the police community nationally.
"We have to go through the process of finding justice, but we have to be able to restore order to these neighbourhoods."
Police said the suspect had a lengthy arrest record and was armed with a stolen handgun.
It is not known if the suspect, who has not been named, fired shots. A second male suspect was taken into custody.
The disturbances are the latest of a series of protests in the wake of killings by police officers.
Uprisings have also been seen in New York, Oakland, Ferguson and Missouri.
The previous incidents involved young African-American males and gave rise to the Black Lives Matter movement.
