First picture of woman who died after swimming ‘very difficult’ seas off Jersey
Joy Godfray died just one day before her 32nd birthday after getting into difficulty during high winds

THIS is the first picture of the woman who died after being rescued off the coast of Jersey on Saturday night.
Joy Godfray lost her life the day before she was due to celebrate her 32nd birthday.
Tributes have flooded in for the 31-year-old, with her devastated family describing her as their “darling daughter”.
Jersey Police said her family wanted to pass on their "heartfelt thanks to the members of the public and all the emergency services who fought to save the life of their daughter".
Jersey Fire Service’s rescue boat and two RNLI lifeboats set out to sea at approximately 8.20am yesterday morning following reports of two swimmers caught in rough conditions.
While a man was rescued by a member of the public who was an experienced swimmer, Joy was dragged further out to sea in the extreme conditions.
The RNLI eventually managed to retrieve her from the sea after locating her between Green Island and Le Hocq, and she was brought back to land and treated by paramedics.
She tragically died in hospital mere hours later.
