Foolish thrill-seekers play chicken with 10ft waves on same weekend six perished in the sea
Coastguard lash pair for breakwater stunt while barefoot risk-taker is lucky to have avoided serious injury

IDIOTIC thrill-seekers take their lives in their own hands - as they play chicken on Britain’s storm-lashed coast on the same weekend SIX people perished in the sea.
A pair of teens were blasted by the coastguard after they took on huge rollers that hit a breakwater.
While eyewitnesses told of their horror at the antics of a man dressed in just a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms clinging on to railings while being battered by the surf at high tide.
In the first incident eyewitnesses told how the pair of teenagers at the Welsh seaside resort of Porthcawl were forced to cling to each other to prevent them being swept out to sea.
RELATED STORIES
The breakwater with its Victorian lighthouse has become a big attraction when huge waves crash against it in stormy weather.
Eyewitness Elizabeth Moore, 54, said: "There were about 20 people watching the waves from a safe distance, it was getting dark and quite dramatic.
"But we were horrified when these two young lads walked along the breakwater in such dangerous conditions.
"People were shouting at them to get back but they couldn't hear because of the noise of the waves."
Holidaymaker Elizabeth said two other boys also joined in the game of chicken on Sunday night.
She added: "They were trying to get closer and closer to the point where the waves were hitting with the maximum force.
"I couldn't watch at one point, I thought they were going to get swept away."
Coastguards said the boys were putting their own lives at risk along with potential rescuers.
A spokesman said: "This is not a case of being hit by a gentle sea spray - these waves are very powerful.
"If these foolish boys were dragged into the sea rescuers would have to put their own lives at risk to reach them.
"The advice is to stay away from areas where surging waves could sweep you off your feet, or hit rocks and cause a huge amount of spray."
And on Saturday afternoon heart-stopping footage was captured showing one man braving 10ft waves at Caswell Bay Beach in Swansea, Wales.
Film shows a barefoot man standing at the water's edge at high tide.
Huge waves crash over him and the choppy sea rages beneath his feet as he balances on a railing.
The careless man even raises his hands and punches the air with a grin on his face, apparently oblivious to the killer force surrounding him.
At one point the man, who is bald and was dressed in a t-shirt and joggers, was up to his neck in water.
Onlooker Chris Griffiths, 50, of Swansea, said: "It was a very high tide but he was standing on the railings.
"He was quite lucky - he got away unscathed but he could have easily been swept out to sea.
"You've only got to lose your footing and you are 20 yards out. You're not swimming back in.
"The swell was eight or ten foot high - it was like a winter storm."
Rudy’s death came before Julie Walker, 37, and her son Lucas, six, died in Aberdeen after he got into trouble paddling and she tried in vain to save him.
Windsurfer Dave Baker, 67, also died on Saturday off the coast of West Mersea in Essex.
The fifth tragedy saw a swimmer die in strong currents in Sandbanks, Dorset, on Saturday.
