Jeremy Corbyn’s aide Sam Tarry in electoral fraud row as questions emerge about his address
Sam Tarry's supposed neighbours say they have never seen him at the flat where he claims to live

A SENIOR Labour leadership campaigner to Jeremy Corbyn who lives between two homes in Brighton and London is at the centre of an electoral fraud row.
Local councillor Sam Tarry, who was a key figure in last week’s Traingate fiasco, owns a £555,000 home in Brighton with his doctor wife and a flat in Barking.
But Mr Tarry, who dubbed Sir Richard Branson a “tax exile” last week, is facing claims he falsely stated he was living in London when he was actually spending most of his time in Brighton.
Under electoral law, a candidate must live in an area for 12 months before standing for election with breaches of the law carrying a jail sentence of up to six months.

But last night lawyers for Mr Tarry said any suggestion that he had made a false declaration — a criminal offence — was “defamatory and inaccurate”.
Mr Tarry added: “The evidence irrefutably demonstrates I meet all residency requirements set out in electoral law to be a Councillor in Barking & Dagenham.”
