Amazon Dash launches in UK letting customers order household essentials at the touch of a button
New Amazon Dash service will involve customers sticking buttons around their homes to automatically trigger next day delivery of essentials

AMAZON is offering customers buttons to stick around their home to order essentials like loo roll for the next day.
The web retailer’s Dash system lets you scan the barcodes of items you regularly need, and then place a device next to them - ready for you to hit when you are running low.
This automatically orders a delivery of the required products, which will then arrive the next day.
The service is available with about 50 popular brands including Andrex, Ariel, Huggies, Finish, Fairy, Gillette, Nescafe and Whiskas. More will be added.
The buttons link to customers’ Amazon accounts via home Wi-Fi.
Failsafes avoid multiple orders if the button is hit too often.
Amazon says the Dash Buttons are essentially free after the first press - buy one for £4.99 and get £4.99 off your first order.
The service has already been running in the U.S since 2015, where 150 brands are signed up to the scheme, ranging from condoms to bottled water and Doritos.

HOW IT WORKS
- 1) Link Dash button up to Wi-Fi using phone app
- 2) Choose what it orders, e.g. for Andrex a pack of 24 loo rolls
- 3) Hang it near the loo roll
- 4) When running low, press it. It will flash white to show order is placed, then green to confirm
- 5) The loo rolls will arrive the next day
