Cheeky builder who took selfie with Kate tells duchess ‘you’re hot… but not as hot as my wife’
Scaffolder Sam Wayne only has eyes for his stunning 'partner in crime'

THE cheeky builder who nabbed a selfie with Kate and Wills has told the duchess: “You’re hot, but not as hot as my wife.”
Sam Wayne bantered with the royals at a housing project but revealed he is happily married to Hayley.
The pair wed in April after 11 years together and Sam said: “Kate’s a great girl and she certainly brightened up the day.
“But I’m married to my lovely wife Hayley who I think is much sexier. She knows I don’t need to look at anyone else, even a beautiful duchess.”
Sam, 36, a former Mr Cornwall, feared he would be shot by bodyguards as he took the photo.
He also revealed pals have given him stick over his new-found fame but his 13-year-old daughter thinks its cool.
The 6ft 4in scaffolder was at the Duchy of Cornwall’s 4,000-home Nansledan development in Newquay when Wills and Kate visited on Thursday.
He admitted being nervous as he stepped close to the royal couple and snapped them in the background, sparking a huge smile from Kate.
He revealed: “We were told there could be no selfies and we had to stand a long way back at first.
“I was a bit concerned some bodyguard was going to shoot me.
“But then the bosses relented and we were allowed to move forward.”
Royal fan Sam also got a selfie with Prince Charles in 2014.
He added: “I tried to engage William in a bit of banter by saying his dad had posed up for me.
“I was hoping he’d get closer but he just smiled, commented that it would be a bad selfie and walked on. That was why Kate was laughing.
“Everyone loves the royals. Construction workers are no exception.
“Some people might try to suggest we were wolf-whistling or making comments. But that’s just ridiculous stereotyping.”
