WHAT A BLAZE
The Great Fire of London recreated along the Thames to mark 350th anniversary of the blaze
Locals and tourists looked on as a 400ft-long replica was set alight

IT looks like London’s burning — but it’s only a wooden model of the capital’s skyline set ablaze to commemorate the Great Fire.
The 400ft-long replica of London in 1666 was created on the Thames by artist David Best for the inferno’s 350th anniversary.
It commemorates the inferno which raged through what is now the City of London over four days in 1666 destroying homes, business and iconic structures such as St Paul’s.
The historic blaze is believed to have started at a bakery in or close to Pudding Lane and spread through 13,200 houses and 84 churches before finally being put out.
Only six people are known to have died.
