Mum thought she was going to die when lorry flipped around 180 degrees
THIS is the incredible moment an HGV spins out of control on a busy motorway ending up facing the WRONG WAY after swerving 180 degrees.
The footage was captured by 51-year-old full time mum Jacqueline Turner while she was driving with her husband and teenage daughter along the M56.
As Jacqueline and her family were driving along the motorway, the truck, which was only two cars in front, suddenly swerved and spun into the oncoming traffic.
The cars in front braked sharply, giving Jacqueline's husband no option but to cross into the left hand lane in front of a van.
The family were then able to squeeze through the gap between the truck and the other cars to safety.
It's unclear what caused the incident, but poor weather could have been a contributing factor.
Jacqueline, from Runcorn, said she felt "hysterical" following the terrifying incident.
Although nobody was hurt, Jacqueline said that had it not been for her husband's skilled driving, she feared she and her family could have been killed.
She said: "I really thought that we were going to crash into the lorry and in that split second when it started spinning, I honestly thought that we were going to die.
"It was a surreal thing when it was happening, all that was in my head was the upcoming crash that I thought was going to happen.
"My husband, who was driving, was extremely calm and managed to avoid the cars in the fast lane that had stopped and were directly in front of us.
"The wheels on our car had locked and we were skidding but he calmly steered the car through a gap on the left and we were able to carry on past the lorry.
"It was then that I got a little bit hysterical because I knew that my husband had saved us from crashing and being seriously injured or killed.
"I turned around to see if my daughter was ok and she was, she didn't even know what had happened.
"Because I was hysterical, and saying to my husband "we were going to crash but you saved us" she then realised what must have happened and she started to cry too.
"All I could say to my husband was "you saved our lives, you're the best driver in the world."
