AT LEAST 13 people, including a child, have died and many more are missing after a tourist boat hit a river bank in Thailand and capsized.
The boat carrying 150 Thai Muslims was on a religious trip when it capsized in the ancient city of Ayutthaya.
Rewat Prasong, deputy governor of Ayutthaya province, told Reuters that the dead include four men, seven women and one boy.
The death toll is expected to rise with many still missing.
At least 37 are been reported injured as rescue workers continue the search for survivors.

The double decker boat was carrying passengers down the Chao Phraya River when it sunk at 4pm local time.
The boat was returning from an Islamic religious journey to a mosque in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.
No tourists are reported to be among the victims.
Pictures show rescue workers searching for passengers as the boat is almost completely under water.
Rescue efforts continue although are reportedly being hampered by rain and darkness.
