More than 30 people killed in airstrike that destroyed aid trucks sending supplies into rebel-held areas in Syria

AN AIRSTRIKE has reportedly killed more than 30 people, with the horrific attacks also destroying aid trucks attempting to deliver supplies to the rebel-held areas of Syria has been condemned as an "outrage".
The devastating reports come after the aid trucks were sent in as part of a truce brokered by the US and Russia seven days ago.
Reports out of Syria have now put the death toll at 32, with the finger being pointed at the Syrian government or Russian military.
A statement released by activists said: "Martyrs and wounded among civilians were reported, some of them are still stuck under the rubble, in Aleppo city and its suburbs, due to bombardment and artillery shelling, just few hours after Assad's regime declared ceasefire expired."
It also claimed that some Red Crescent staff were injured in the airstrike.
A UN spokesman said an aid convoy had been hit in Aleppo, calling the strike an "outrage".
The UN Special Envoy for Syrian Staffan de Mistura, said: "The convoy was the outcome of a long process of permission and preparations to assist isolated civilians."
It is understood that the Syrian military declared the seven days of peace at an end, with both the military and rebels accusing each other of violating the week-long truce.
The aid trucks were the first of the shipments to be sent into the rebel-held eastern area of Aleppo, with more than 2750,000 civilians trapped without food or medical supplies.
The monitoring group Syrian Observatory for Humans Rights (SOHR) said that the aid trucks had been hit by Syrian or Russian airplanes.
Rescue efforts in the area have since been rolled out, civil defence has stated.
The US, which was heavily involved in helping both sides to agree to the week of peace along with Russia, said it had hoped the agreement would be extended.
Secretary of State John Kerry criticised the Syrian declaration, saying: "It would be good if they didn't talk first to the press but if they talked to the people who are actually negotiating this."
The US also called on Russia to clarify their position in the conflict.
