Labour’s domestic violence spokesman was put in police cell and accused of assault after fight with husband
Sarah Champion said she was 'provoked' into the bust-up with BBC producer Graham Hoyland

LABOUR’S domestic violence spokesman was once put in a police cell accused of assault after a fight with her husband, it has emerged.
Sarah Champion said she was “provoked” into the bust-up with BBC producer Graham Hoyland.
The Rotherham MP, 46, said the couple had been rowing about selling their home ahead of their 2007 divorce, adding: “I’m not proud of what happened and I accept I was in the wrong, but I have nothing to hide.
“I lost control after being provoked for years and for that I am sorry, but I felt extremely vulnerable at that moment.
"I think the experience helps me better understand how living in a toxic atmosphere can cause emotional damage.”
