A BRITISH woman is believed to be the world’s youngest commercial airline captain at just 26.
Kate McWilliams began flying at 13 in the air cadets before embarking on a training programme on her 19th birthday.
In May 2011 she joined easyJet as a first officer and recently took up the rank of captain.
Gatwick-based Kate now flies Airbus A319 and A320 planes to around 100 destinations.
Last week she flew to Malta with Luke Elsworth, 19, the UK’s youngest pilot.

Kate, from Reigate, Surrey, said cabin crew and passengers ask her daily how old she is.
But she added: “Most people are pleasantly surprised and impressed with my achievement at such a young age.”
