Cops detained the Syrian national after a huge manhunt over fears he was planning an airport atrocity
AN ASYLUM-seeker arrested on suspicion of plotting a massive ISIS bomb attack in Germany has committed suicide in police custody.
Officials confirmed reports that Syrian national Jaber Albakr had been found hanged in his cell in Leipzig on Wednesday evening.
It is thought the 22-year-old -- who is suspected of plotting an atrocity at Berlin airport -- had been under round-the-clock surveillance over hunger strike fears, according German daily Der Speigel.
Police arrested Albakr on Monday after a massive manhunt lasting almost two days.

Security had been stepped up at airports and train stations when he went on the run last Saturday.
Cops raided his apartment in Chemnitz and found several hundred grams of "an explosive substance more dangerous than TNT.”
"We've succeeded, really overjoyed: the terror suspect Albakr was arrested overnight in Leipzig," police said on Twitter on Monday.
Experts said that "even a small quantity" of the explosives uncovered "could have caused enormous damage".
Local media reported that the material was TATP, the homemade explosive that was used by jihadists in the Paris and Brussels attacks.
Alkbar was granted Asylum in Germany last year.
He was arrested after three fellow Syrians he had asked for help tied him up and alerted police.
There are thought to have turned down bribes worth up to £1,000 before turning him into the authorities.
