SHOCKING footage has emerged of a thug punching a man in the face in a "racist" London Underground attack.
In the disturbing clip, the man is sat with a female companion as the train pulls in to Upton Park station in east London.
As the train pulls to a halt, the violent attacker swings a seemingly unprovoked punch at the man's face.
The victim's head thuds loudly against the train's window behind after the brute lands the forceful blow.
Reeling from the attack, the victim clutches his face while his companion jumps up and chases the attacker off the train.
She can be heard screaming "call a copper" as she pursues the thug down the platform.
The attack is thought to have been racially aggravated.
Another passenger filmed the footage - but there is no clear indication of what happened before the recording.
It also remains unclear why the bystander was filming the couple.
