THIS is the bizarre moment a motorist tried to drive his car off the back of a truck to try and stop it being towed away.
The escape footage shows a group of men, women and children crowding round an Irishman named Arthur who has found his motor on the back of a tow truck.
But Arthur seems disinclined to pay the fine to free his ride instead clambering into the driving seat and firing up the engine.
Oblivious to the fact chains have been attached to his car's axles he slams it into reverse and puts the hammer down, trying to back off the truck.
His idiotic antics cause the restraints to snap, flinging the motor up in the air before it falls down again and becomes lodged on the corner of the truck.
Arthur's family can be heard out of shot offering helpful advice such as: "Get out of the car and push it off."
As it dawns on him that he will not be able to shift his car he jumps out to argue with a couple of bemused traffic wardens.
