British Airways cabin crew being balloted on strikes after accusing airline of bullying

BRITISH Airways cabin crew are being balloted on strikes after accusing the airline of bullying.
Incidents include bosses allegedly demanding an order of service before allowing a member of staff to attend a funeral.
Another apparently had to provide a cancer diagnosis to be allowed to miss a flight.
A source said: “Cabin crew have had enough.
“Many feel victimised for just falling sick.”
A union leader told stunned staff amid an escalating row over BA’s sickness policy: “Please remember to have your phone camera handy when you’re running to the loo, you might need that selfie stick.”

At a branch union meeting last month BA crew gave their officials a mandate to take protest action.
Staff were told in a letter leaked to The Sun: “Crew have been sacked with the minimum of deliberation and a proper, thorough investigation.
“We have had instances where crew suffering from declared mental health issues, have found themselves in a disciplinary process, while still sick and receiving delicate medical care.”
Unite union officials within the British Airways Stewards and Stewardesses Association hit out: “Sooner or later, all of us, at some stage of our careers, will unfortunately become ill and be unable to work.

Last night BA told The Sun: "We continue to offer to meet with the trade unions to hear their concerns and work together to find a solution."
