Valdo Calocane, 31, has been charged with their murders, and three counts of attempted murder, too.

He is accused of stabbing the trio, before stealing Ian's van and using it to drive into a crowd of pedestrians, injuring three, in the early hours of Tuesday last week.

Marcin was released from hospital the day after the horror unfolded, and said he was able to spend Father's Day at home.

He yesterday told : "I am feeling a bit better."

The dad then added: "But I still remember everything."

Marcin was mowed down alongside Wayne Birkett and Sharon Miller.

The group was injured after the alleged killer knifed students Barnaby and Grace to death as they walked home from a nightclub around 4am on June 13.

In the short time that followed, school caretaker Ian Coates, 65, was allegedly killed by the same knifeman just streets away from the teens.

Police were then raced to Milton Street where Ian's stolen van was used to run Marcin, Wayne and Sharon down.

Wayne was left fighting for his life while Marcin and Sharon were said to have only sustained minor injuries.

His family told in recent days that Wayne was awake in hospital, but has multiple broken bones and is struggling to remember loved ones.

Meanwhile, Marcin is back at home recovering with his wife Samantha, and five-year-old daughter.

He said at the weekend: “I was hit by the van, but I can't say anything, the police have told me not to do.

"I'm feeling ok now, I was released from hospital on Wednesday.”

A pal explained that he had been up early for work when the attack occurred.

They explained: “It's awful what happened. He had a bump to his head and he's suffered injuries to his leg and arm and he's walking with a limp but to be honest he could have been more seriously wounded or even killed."

Sharon remains in hospital, her husband said.

Martin said: “Sharon is really lucky to be alive. I just want to thank the paramedics and the police for all they’ve done.

“At the moment she is too traumatised to talk about what happened.”
