Who is George Ormond? Former Newcastle United coach found guilty of sexually abusing young boys
The coach committed his crimes over a period of 25 years

GEORGE Ormond is a former youth football coach who used a "position of power" to commit a series of sexual abuse offences against boys and young men over a 25-year period.
The 62-year-old was found guilty of 35 charges of indecent assault and one of indecency at his trial.
Who is George Ormond and what were his crimes?
George Ormond was a former football coach found guilty of molesting young boys.
Working part-time with Newcastle United, his career also included coaching at a grassroots football club during the '70s and '80s.
His role within Newcastle's youth setup was described in court as a combination of "kit man, gopher and dogsbody".
In 2002 Ormond was sent to prison for six years after being found guilty of abusing seven boys under the age of 16 between 1975 and 1999.
Then in July 2018, Ormond was convicted of 35 charges of indecent assault and one of indecency following a six-week trial.
His depraved abuse took place in the back of his card and at summer camps and he would indecently touch his victims while massaging them or checking injuries.
Ormond will be sentenced on Wednesday, July 4.
Mick Paterson from Northumbria Police said: "These young men had ambition, they had dreams of going on to glittering footballing careers.
"Ormond was able - because he is a predatory paedophile - to have those dreams in his hands."
Who is Derek Bell?
Former Newcastle footballer Derek Bell waived his right to anonymity to open up about the abuse he suffered at Ormond's hands.
Bell said he was abused between the ages of 12 and 16.
He said: "He used to say 'Listen, if you don't perform these acts on me then I'm not going to play you. I'm going to tell the scouts that your attitude is bad and I'll not play you for months'."
Bell used a hidden tape recorder when he confronted Ormond years later, with the evidence used in the successful conviction of the paedo in 2002.
