Who is Adam Britton and what has he been accused of?

ADAM Britton has been jailed for 10 years in Australia for animal abuse.
The animal expert was arrested in April 2022, after torturing, raping and killing dozen of dogs over the span of eight years.
Adam Robert Corden Britton is a British born Australian crocodile expert and convicted zoosadist.
He was born in 1972 in West Yorkshire and received his PhD in Zoology at the University of Bristol.
In 1996, Adam moved to Australia to follow his passion for crocodiles.
He met his future wife in Australia, with whom he co-founded Big Gecko, a consultancy firm that specialised in crocodile research and provided crocodile footage to television and film productions.
His expertise made him a sought-after consultant, and his work was featured in prestigious documentaries produced by the BBC and National Geographic.
Adam once hosted Sir David Attenborough on his property, while the veteran broadcaster reportedly filmed part of a docuseries.
He and his wife were the owners of a well-known saltwater crocodile Smaug, who gained fame for appearances in horror films.
On social media, Adam maintained the facade of a dedicated zoologist, frequently posting updates about his crocodiles, his property, and his dogs, as well as sharing footage of his work.
I had repressed it. In the last few years I let it out again and now I can't stop. I don't want to.

Adam has pleaded guilty to dozens of charges of bestiality involving the torture, rape and killing of pet dogs.
Beginning in 2014, Adam embarked on a gruesome spree of sexually abusing and torturing dogs.
Over an eight-year period, he tortured, raped, and killed 42 dogs.
Out of the 42 dogs that Adam abused, 39 were reported to have died as a direct result of his torture.
He would often film these acts and later upload the footage to various online platforms under pseudonyms, where he was also involved in sharing and accessing child abuse material.
One of the platforms he used was Telegram, where he wanted to connect with like-minded abusers.
In one message on the platform, he wrote: "I had repressed it.
“In the last few years I let it out again and now I can't stop. I don't want to."
Adam sourced many of his victims from unsuspecting pet owners in the Darwin region, often using online platforms like Gumtree.
These owners, unaware of his dark intentions, believed they were rehoming their pets to a safe environment.
In April 2022 he was arrested after one clip was sent to the NT Animal Welfare Branch and passed on to NT police.
ABC News reported that during the investigation police seized 44 items from his property, including computers, mobile phones, cameras, external hard drives, tools, weapons, dog paraphernalia and sex toys.
Police even found files of child abuse material on one of his computers.
He was charged in 2022, but due to the severity of the accusations and the potential for public outrage, his identity was initially suppressed by the courts to avoid prejudicing a jury.
On September 26, 2023 the order was lifted after Adam pleaded guilty to 37 counts of animal cruelty, ten counts of raping or attempting to rape a dog and four counts of possesing or transmitting child abuse material.
He remained in custody until his sentencing.
On August 8, 2024, Adam was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Chief Justice Michael Grant said to him at Darwin Supreme Court: "Your depravity falls outside any ordinary human conception.
"Your sheer and unalloyed pleasure is sickeningly evident from the recorded material."
Along with the prison sentence, Adam was permanently banned from owning any animals for the rest of his life.
