I was beaten up at £148M EuroMillions winner’s mansion… but now cops are dropping the case – the reason is an insult
A DAD has blasted cops for dropping a probe into an attack on him at a £148million lottery winner’s mansion.
Lewis Cundell, 29, was left with broken ribs and permanent lung damage when he was repeatedly kicked at the Coronation party at .
He spent a week in hospital and two suspects were interviewed over the beating - but investigators have now dropped the case, blaming a lack of evidence.
Lewis is now considering private legal action against the culprits, after the damage left him with permanent breathing difficulties.
Lewis, of Cambridge, said: “I feel completely let down.
“The police never seemed that bothered. It was constantly being passed to different officers and police stations.

“I think this is the outcome they wanted from the start. They just didn’t want the hassle.
"But that’s not how the cops are supposed to work.
“They phoned me up and said they were dropping the case due to lack of evidence.
“My alleged attackers went ‘no comment’ when they were spoken to by officers, so there was nothing they could do.

“It’s my word against theirs - the difference being they weren’t hospitalised with these horrific injuries.
“So it's done, case closed, finished. They’ve basically got away with it scot-free.”
Lewis claims a fight broke out at the party in May when he was targeted by yobs following an arm wrestling contest with ex-postie Adrian’s teenage son – which he won.
Terrified Lewis suffered two broken ribs and a broken sternum in the incident – which he claimed only ended when his mum, who used to be Adrian’s cleaner, told his attackers to stop.
Adrian, 53, who scooped £148m on Euromillions in 2012, declined to comment on the incident at the time.
There is no suggestion Adrian or his family were involved in the attack.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said: “We have looked at every line of enquiry.
“The investigation has been filed pending any further information coming to light.”
