Dad’s heartbreaking post after cancer-stricken wife, 40, dies before she can open Christmas presents with their son
Ed Cusick, 40, wanted to grant wife Nina's wish of seeing her 21-month-old son, Teddy, unwrap his presents

THE husband of a woman battling cancer who was fighting to make it to Christmas Day so she could unwrap presents with their son has revealed that she has passed away.
Ed Cusick, 40, took to Facebook and said that his wife Nina's wish of spending the festive day with their 21-month-old son Teddy would not be realised.
Nina was diagnosed with bowel cancer in February last year, which then spread to her liver and bones.
The graphic designer had been hoping to take part in a new clinical trial next year which could cure her but despite an incredible fundraising effort by her husband, she never had the chance to receive treatment.
Writing on Facebook, Ed told pals yesterday: "It is with the worst pain I have ever felt that I am writing this to inform all our friends that I have tragically lost my Nina.
"She was taken to hospital after developing an infection last week.
"She fought so hard for her life but the antibiotics had no effect, they were stopped and she died in my arms as I lay next to her in the hospital bed on Thursday.
"I am beyond destroyed. She was my world.
"Babe I pray somehow you see or hear this from the voices of many people reading it.
"I love you more than words can ever describe. You have been such a beautiful and wonderful wife to me and the most incredible mother to our little boy.
"We have been through the toughest time possible, but every second I spent with you has been the best and most precious time of my life.
"You are not only a stunning wife and mother, but you are a wonderful daughter, sister, friend and an inspiration of strength to so many people who's hearts you have reached out and touched.
"What you have achieved through love in the face of cancer is beyond imaginable.
"Above all, you are my wife, my best friend, my soul mate and my only ever true love...you're my Neens, and you always always will be! Now & Forever.
"I miss you so much!"
