CHILLING LAIR

Inside deprived ‘beastie house’ where sick Glasgow paedophile ring unleashed twisted terror on kids

Children's toys can be seen piled up in one of the filthy rooms

THIS is the first chilling look inside the lair of a "monstrous" Glasgow paedophile ring.

Iain Owens, 45, Paul Brannan, 41, Barry Watson, 47, John Clark, 47, Scott Forbes, 50, Elaine Lannery, 39, and Lesley Williams, 41, all face lengthy jail terms after they were found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow last week.

The seven-strong sex ring, all heroin addicts, subjected the youngsters to horrific attacks in the insect-infested den.

Creepy images from inside the property show a green plastic chair and kids' toys piled up in one of the rooms, while a guitar leans against the wall.

In another, a large TV screen can be seen wrapped in clear plastic with the Police Scotland logo.

A blue children's pogo stick appears to be propped up in the dilapidated hole.

Pennies and rubber bands sit on a filthy windowsill.

The windows on the outside of the city centre flat have been boarded up.

One child described the flat as the “dark and scary beastie house”.

All seven were found guilty of raping children and four were nailed for the attempted murder of a tot who they forced into a microwave oven.

The attacks included the horrific rape of one girl who was pinned down by male members of the ring as female members cheered, hollered and encouraged the attack.

There were said to have been “rape nights”, “dance and sex nights” as well as “dog killings nights” held within the property.

Earlier in the trial, allegations of witchcraft against the original eleven accused of being part of a child sex abuse ring were dropped by prosecutors.

Four accused walked free after the jury returned not proven verdicts in relation to Leona Laing, 51, Mark Carr, 50, and Richard Gachagan 45.

Mariane Gallagher, 38 was found guilty of assaulting a girl by kicking, punching and striking her on the head and body at the crime scene.

But she was cleared of being involved in any sexual offences and granted bail.

The seven now convicted sex offenders showed little emotion as they were taken down to the cells to await their fate on January 4.

Lord Beckett told them they had all committed “at least one extremely serious offence” as he deferred sentence for the preparation of background reports.

Cops leading the investigation slammed the vile gang over their heinous crimes following the trial.

Detective Superintendent Nicola Kilbane said: "This has been a horrific ordeal for the young victims who were subjected to years of unimaginable abuse. Our thoughts are with them today and I hope this outcome can help them in moving forward.

"The levels of depravity shown in this case are extremely rare in Scotland and the courage of the victims was essential in securing this conviction.
