Trump dismissed claims by intelligence officials that Putin was behind leaking of election rival Hillary Clinton's emails
US VICE President Joe Biden has given the president-elect Donald Trump a ticking off, telling him to "grow up".
Biden slammed Trump's behaviour over the recent claims of Russian hacking during the US Presidential Election.
The vice president told PBS NewsHour that it's time for Trump "to be an adult".
In a message to the incoming leader, Biden said: "You're president. You've got to do something. Show us what you have."
Russia was accused of involvement in the damaging leak of Hillary Clinton’s emails during her failed election bid last year.
US intelligence officials confirmed their belief that Putin was behind the cyber attack, which saw the embarrassing correspondence published on Wikileaks.
And Donald Trump has indicated that he believed the Wikileaks founder over his own intelligence agencies.
Biden slammed Trump over his stance on the issue, branding it "dangerous" for a president-elect to publicly criticise the US intelligence community.
He said it was "absolutely mindless" for a US leader not to have confidence in or listen to the intelligence agencies.
The vice president said it would be legitimate to question intelligence, to ask for more detail or to disagree.
But he said there was a huge difference between that and Trump claiming to know more than the intelligence agencies.
Biden said that was like saying: "I know more about physics than my professor."
But he said he expected Trump's behaviour to change once he takes office.
The vice president also said it will be "much clearer what he's for and against" once he's in the position of governing, as he will have to propose legislation that Congress and the public can then assess.
