AN ADOLF Hitler doppelganger has been spotted wandering around the Furher's hometown with his distinctive moustache, haircut and clothing.
Authorities have confirmed bizarre reports that a spitting image of the Nazi dictator has "often" been seen on the streets of Braunau am Inn, Austria.
Hitler was born in the town in 1889, when it was part of Austria-Hungary.
reports the local Oberoesterreichische Nachrichten paper quoted a local resident as saying: "I have often seen this gentlemen (The Hitler doppelganger) in Braunau and wonder if this means something,"
The man, estimated to be 25 to 30 years old, was last seen in a local bookstore browsing through magazines about World War Two.
He has reportedly identified himself in a local bar as 'Harald Hitler'.

He has also been photographed in front of the house where Hitler was born.
Austria's parliament voted in December to buy the three-storey house where Hitler was born, which the government has rented since 1972 to control how it is used.
