Man, 52, arrested on suspicion of murder after woman’s death in UK city centre hotel

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died in a city centre hotel yesterday.
The 58-year-old was found unconscious inside the Lord Nelson Hotel on Hotham Street in Liverpool at around 1.40pm.
Emergency services raced to the scene, but the woman was sadly pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, hotel guests were warned not to leave their rooms, according to local reports.
Merseyside Police have now confirmed that a 52-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He was taken to a police station and will be questioned by detectives.

The force said an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and the cause of her death.
One man said he had no idea when he would be able to get back inside his second floor room.
Forensics in white suits were seen going in and out of the hotel.
Part of the street was also cordoned off by the police.

Detective Superintendent Paul Grounds said: “These are still the early stages of our investigation and our work will continue at pace at the location and elsewhere, as we look to piece together what happened.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the victim’s family, who will be supported by specialist officers, and to everyone affected by the events of yesterday.
