Footage shot from a nearby building and released since the shocking attack shows three masked men trying to force the woman into a white Chronopost delivery van.

The violent attack took place on Rue Pache in the French capital's 11th Arrondissement.

The woman owes her safety to the intervention of the child's father, reported.

He completely covered her, taking numerous blows - as well as what appeared to be a stab wound to his upper back.

Passers-by can be seen intervening to stop the attackers - who give up and jump back into the van, fleeing the scene.

The unnamed woman was accompanied by her two-year-old child at the time of the attack, police say.

There has so far been no word on her condition or that of the child.

The shocking daylight attack was over in a matter of moments, as the assailants left the van open and ready to escape quickly.

One of the attackers reportedly lost a handgun in the attack, although it is unclear whether the firearm was real.

The gang's van was later found on a nearby street.

Le Parisien added that the Paris prosecutor's office has called on the anti-banditry brigade to conduct the investigation.

One witness to the horror incident, 61-year-old Jean-Jacques, said: "I heard screaming so I went outside.

"I saw hooded and armed men running away and I turned my head and saw a man with a bloody head, he was lying on the ground. There was blood everywhere.

"I cauterized the wound."

The Paris Judicial Police's Anti-Banditism Brigade has been summoned to investigate an attempted kidnapping.

It comes after another cryptocurrency related kidnapping occurred in Paris a mere few days earlier, and another in January.

On May 1, the dad of a crypto entrepreneur was held for over 48 hours in a building in the capital after being taken captive by thugs.

A ransom demand for between five to seven million euros was made, with the victim also sustaining injuries including a severed finger, French media reports.

Armed cops rescued the target the following day during a raid in Palaiseau, with five suspects arrested.

And in January, the co-founder of Ledger - a French company valued at over one billion euros - David Balland was kidnapped alongside his partner from their home in central France.

The kidnappers subjected the couple to torture and horrifically cut off one of Balland's fingers as they demanded a whopping 10 million euro ransom.

The couple thankfully were found a day later, with six men and one woman arrested in connection with the horror incident.
