Man charged with acid attack that left aspiring model and her cousin with ‘life changing’ burns
John Tomlin, 24, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent

A MAN has been charged with an acid attack that left an aspiring model and her cousin with “life-changing” burns.
John Tomlin, 24, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent following a three-week manhunt.
Resham Khan, 21, and her cousin Jameel Muhktar, 37, were doused in acid while sitting in their car in Beckton, East London, on June 21.
The pair were left with severe burns after the attack on Resham’s 21st birthday.
Resham, a student just back from an exchange year in Cyprus, has told how she was left in “excruciating pain” after suffering burns to her face and body.
Writing on Twitter, she said: “I saw my clothes burn away in front of me. We stripped off in the middle of the road, running around screaming and begging for water.”
Jameel was put in an induced coma while his injuries were treated and had to undergo surgery.
Tomlin handed himself into an east London police station on Sunday following a police appeal and will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
