Was Kate Middleton and Prince William’s third baby conceived on their trip to Poland?

KATE and William are expecting their third child — who may have been conceived on their recent trip to Poland.

The news was announced yesterday as Kate suffered severe morning sickness, just like in the early stages of her previous two pregnancies.

It begins about six to seven weeks after conception, suggesting the couple did the act after arriving in Warsaw in July — where Kate hinted she wanted more kids.

The Royal Family were said to be overjoyed at the news of third child for Kate and William.

A Kensington Palace announced the news yesterday and added: “The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.”

And Clarence House said of grandparents Charles and Camilla: “They are delighted.”

Harry said he was “very, very happy” at the prospect of becoming an uncle for the third time.

The announcement was made after Kate cancelled a planned visit to a children’s centre because she was suffering a crippling morning sickness known as hyperemesis gravidarum.

'50 vomits' a day

HYPEREMESIS gravidarum causes severe and frequent vomiting, occurring up to 50 times a day.

This can quickly bring on dehydration and low blood pressure, which may need hospital treatment with a drip, or a tube into the stomach.

Anti-sickness drugs are usually prescribed too.

It is the most common reason for a pregnant woman to be admitted to hospital.

But deaths from hyperemesis gravidarum hardly ever happen now in the West.

She had it during her previous pregnancies carrying Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

It kicks in about six weeks after conception.

That suggests the new baby was conceived just after Kate and William arrived in Warsaw on July 17 for an official trip to Poland and Germany.

During the visit Kate had given the first inkling that another Royal baby might be on the cards — after she was handed a toy in Warsaw that was intended for newborns.

She laughed and said to William: “We will just have to have more babies.”

While on the trip Kate also avoided alcohol, in line with medical advice for women hoping to conceive.

On the first day, she barely touched a glass of wine at a reception in honour of the Queen.

And she took a tiny sip of a shot of Polish liqueur Goldwasser in Gdansk the following day — while Wills downed the lot.

The Duchess also avoided a brew at a beer festival in Heidelberg, Germany, on day four — clinking glasses then giving it away untouched.

Poorly Kate was yesterday being cared for at Kensington Palace by her mum Carole Middleton.

While most mums-to-be suffer some form of morning sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum strikes only about one in 100.

It causes severe vomiting and can lead to dehydration — a risk for both mother and baby.

Doctors said Kate will face a challenge to keep herself hydrated while her stomach is rejecting almost anything she eats.

There was also a sense of deja vu about the announcement.

On September 8 2014 it was revealed Kate was pregnant with Charlotte — an announcement that was also rushed out because of the onset of severe morning sickness.

It means Charlotte and the new baby will probably have side-by-side birthdays.

Yesterday a North Wales newspaper broke the news with the witty headline: “Former Anglesey helicopter pilot expecting third child.”

William and Kate lived on the isle when he was an RAF pilot.

A spokesman for PM Theresa May said: “It is fantastic news and she passes on her congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”

Mum will be helper

POORLY Kate will now need all the help she can get from her mum Carole.
On Thursday Kate is due to take Prince George for his first day at Thomas’s School in Battersea.
It is not a moment any mum wants to miss but the early hour and the three-mile journey in London traffic might defeat even the bravest.
But Kate will once again have to find a way of dealing with her condition — as both she and William have a busy list of engagements throughout the autumn.
