A TERRIFIED woman live-tweeted her 16-hour snow hell after she was stranded along with 1,000 other drivers on the M80.
Lesley Forster's usual 90 minute journey home took ten times longer as heavy snow blanketed Scotland yesterday.
The 48-year-old left her work as a hairdresser in Stirling early as the weather started to get worse so she could make it home to Mollinsburn safely.
But she was instead forced to spend the night in her Nissan Juke on the M80 motorway along with 1,000 other drivers also stranded in the snow storm, later sharing a video of her "15 hours of hell".
Brits are now:
- Wrapping up in -15C 'feel-like' temperatures as the Siberian winds make it the coldest spell since 1991
- Dealing with "danger to life" warnings as Storm Emma and the "Beast from the East" clash over the UK - with conditions set to worsen tonight
- Enduring travel chaos as planes are grounded, trains across the south cancelled and roads blocked by several inches of snow
- Stripping supermarket shelves in a desperate bid to stock up on essentials amid fears of being stranded
- Facing the prospect of homes without power and mobile phone outages as the sub-zero temperatures wreak havoc on electricity lines
- Attempting to keep warm as the National Grid issued a "gas deficit warning" - meaning there might not be enough gas supplies to meet demands
Lesley told the this morning: "It's been nearly 16 hours, I'm finally moving now, finally just crawling along slowly at about 15mph.
"I did not sleep last night, I was too frightened with the dark and the cold.

"The outside lane is still a car park with abandoned vehicles and there's jack-knifed lorries.
"I've never seen anything like it, not even on the TV."
As Lesley battled to keep warm in sub-zero temperatures, she was visited by a good Samaritan called Zack who was pulling a sledge carrying water bottles for drivers.

Lesley said: "It has been absolutely terrifying it was freezing last night, freezing cold
"It's frightening sitting still like a sitting duck."
Motorists frantically trying to get home from work last night were forced to either sleep in their cars or completely abandon them on the M80 between Glasgow and Stirling last night.
Storm Emma is poised to smash into the Beast from the East and bring extreme weather into early next week.
A red weather warning - the highest level - is still in place in for Scotland until 10am today, with up to 40cm of the white stuff expected in some areas.
Police Scotland have now urged people not to travel on the roads at all after having to rescue the 1,000 drivers yesterday, as the AA reports already having to go out to more than 100 motorists today.
