Evidence points to Bashar al-Assad being guilty of the chemical attack in Syria — and the Cabinet is right to back the PM in taking action

Bash the tyrant
M0RE and more evidence points to the obvious suspect in the chemical assault in Syria, Bashar al-Assad, being guilty as sin.
So the Cabinet is right to give the PM backing to take action.
The prospect of a chemical arms race is too awful to contemplate.
All options should be on the table.
It will be for her, President Trump and President Macron to decide the best course of action.
But toxic assaults on children cannot go unpunished.
Some, including Jeremy Corbyn, still think more chatter will help.
It’s a nice idea, but it’s clear neither Assad nor Putin will listen.
We mustn’t rush in blindly, or get caught in a messy conflict. But by the same token, we can’t be paralysed by memories of Iraq.
Action should be short, sharp and time-limited. It must be focused on ensuring that such a horrific assault cannot be repeated.
But standing by, especially after the strong words of recent days, is no longer an option.
Sachs bomb
YET more good news for Brexit Britain.
The doom-mongering Goldman Sachs chief admits he got it wrong and that things aren’t as bad as he expected.
Bosses’ club the IoD says that confidence is at its highest this year.
And Canadian PM Justin Trudeau says his country will start trade talks with us the very moment we unshackle ourselves from the Brussels beast.
We’re well on our way to a successful Global Britain.
No canny state
AFTER a while, the Nanny State’s hectoring goes in one ear and out the other.
No sugar. No salt. No steak.
Now we’re apparently on our way to booze limits of less than a pint a day.
The problem with the various bits of finger-wagging advice is that they are so divorced from reality that nobody pays a jot of attention.
We must stop using taxpayers’ money to prop up this ever-growing army of busybodies.
The answer isn’t more guidelines, delivered as if they’re tablets of stone.
It’s education, everything in moderation, and basic common sense.

On public order grounds, they should clear every single stem.
Let’s leave Mr Osborn-Brooks and his wife in peace.
