Kate gets extra help from mum Carole Middleton following birth of royal couple’s third child

DOTING granny Carole Middleton has stepped in to help daughter Kate and Wills with their three kids — alongside “super nanny” Maria Borrallo.
And a royal source said she is proving invaluable as the Duchess gets used to life with her newborn son in addition to his siblings Prince George, four, and two-year-old Princess Charlotte.
Carole, 63, was spotted on Monday afternoon stocking up on supplies from Boots and Peter Jones, just a stone’s throw from London’s Kensington Palace. Her trip came only a couple of hours after the new prince arrived at 11.01am, weighing 8lb 7oz.
The royal source said: “Carole has been invaluable to the Duchess. Kate stayed with her parents in Bucklebury last weekend and, when she returned to London, Carole came too.
“She’s been popping in and out of Kensington Palace, helping with George and Charlotte. Kate already has nanny Maria, who is fantastic, but Carole’s been an amazing second pair of hands.
“She’s not staying at the palace, but is helping out hugely.” Kate, 36, used the services of a night nanny — who sleeps in the same room as the baby and brings it to mum for night feeds — when George was born in July 2013.
But the source added: “She didn’t need one with Charlotte, or indeed the new baby boy, as she has Maria.”
Wills and Kate employed Spanish Norland Nanny Maria, 47, in 2014 when George was seven months old and she has remained with them ever since. Yesterday Kate’s sister Pippa, also pregnant, popped in to see the new royal tot — as did Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle.
Meanwhile Prince Charles spoke of his “great joy” at the birth of his second grandson, joking: “How am I going to keep up with them?” The 69-year-old has yet to meet the new arrival as he spent the day travelling to Normandy ahead of a dawn Anzac service.
On behalf of himself and Camilla, the Prince of Wales said: “We are so pleased at the news. It is a great joy to have another grandchild, the only trouble is I don’t know how I’m going to keep up with them.”
Charles will visit the baby after returning from France. Meanwhile William, 35, and Kate are keeping even close family in the dark over the tot’s name.
The Countess of Wessex said yesterday: “The jury’s out on that one. I don’t know, we’re all just going to have to wait and see!”
