Inside the £8,000-a-night Sentosa Island hotel in Singapore where Donald Trump will meet Kim Jong-un on June 12

AN opulent £8,000-a-night hotel resort has been confirmed as the venue in Singapore where Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un will meet in the flesh for the first time.
The sprawling British designed Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island has been completely taken over to host the historic talks on June 12 aimed at averting nuclear war.
And the hotel complex is sure to impress luxury loving Kim.
Set amid 30 acres of lush, manicured gardens, the Capella has 112 rooms in an ultra-modern resort.
Secluded villas have also been built in restored colonial buildings that once included an officers' mess for the British army.
It was designed by acclaimed Brit architect Norman Foster, who designed the Gherkin in London and Apple’s HQ in California.
The glamorous and secluded resort has been favoured by A-listers like queen of pop Madonna and Lady Gaga when they stopped over in the city-state on tour.
It is unclear whether Kim will hole up at the Capella Hotel or travel from the five-star Fullerton Hotel in the city to the island.
Either way the US government is picking up the bill and Kim has demanded only the best.
And there is plenty on the island to keep the fun-loving dictator occupied with a Universal Studios theme park and a golf course just some of the attractions.
And in a surprise development, it emerged Kim’s “soulmate” and close pal, the ex-NBA star Dennis Rodman will be attending the summit to hang out with the North Korean despot.
The 6ft 7in basketball player has struck up something of bromance with the pint-sized Kim and has visited the rogue regime five times before.
The rotund ruler will also have a chance to wolf down the excellent cuisine on offer with tables costing more than £1,700. Personal servants are also on hand.
The talks have been confirmed, cancelled and then announced it was happening after all.
On May 24 Trump scrapped a meeting with Kim Jong-un, citing the "tremendous anger and open hostility".
This came in the wake of a statement from North Korea over the military drills being carried out by the US and South Korea.
A delegation from the hermit state arrived in the White House on June 1 to patch things over and Kim and Don's first date was back on.
And yesterday a White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a Twitter post that "the venue for the Singapore summit between @POTUS and Leader Kim Jong Un will be the Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island.
“We thank our great Singaporean hosts for their hospitality."
The Singapore government said police would make stricter checks of people and personal belongings and items such as public address systems and remotely piloted aircraft system would be prohibited in the area.
Singapore has designated certain parts of city as special event areas for June 10 to 14.
These include the central region, which is home to its foreign ministry and the US embassy.
