MPs blast David Cameron for his hopes to return to frontline politics after he ‘ran away’ from the EU referendum result
Labour politicians, as well as hard-line Conservative Brexiteers stamped all over David Cameron's comeback bid

DAVID Cameron’s hopes of a return to frontline politics divided the nation as his friends and foes exchanged bitter blows.
The Sun’s Page 1 revelation yesterday that the former PM is “bored s***less” and would like a senior Cabinet post one day electrified Westminster.
Senior Labour as well as hardline Tory Brexiteers were swift to stamp on his aspiration for a comeback, which Mr Cameron’s office refuse to deny yesterday.
Labour Deputy Leader Tom Watson dubbing it “outrageous” after the ex-Tory leader had “ran away from a Referendum result that he imposed on the country."
Other Labour MPs accused Mr Cameron of behaving arrogantly like he had an “entitlement” to power. Another ex-Tory boss Iain Duncan Smith also blasted Mr Cameron for walking away from Britain and said his return would be “rather peculiar”.
Brexit campaigner IDS added: “I actually thought that he should have taken the responsibility having called the Referendum to have seen this through and not resigned.
“I was pretty unhappy with him for doing that.”
But Mr Cameron’s allies countered to argue he was a powerful talent, and pointed to a recent poll that showed he was the only ex-PM more popular than Theresa May.
One Tory minister who also served in Mr Cameron’s government told The Sun: “It would be great to see Dave back."

The right wing Centre For Policy Studies think tank boss Robert Colvile insisted: “Whatever you think of Brexit, he tried his best to serve the public - and if he wants to do so again, good on him”.
Downing Street refused to engage in Mr Cameron’s comeback hope under Mrs May’s successor in the future.
The PM’s official spokesman said: “Whether he chooses to seek a return to frontline politics is a matter for him”.
No10 officials also said Mrs May and Mr Cameron have buried their hatchet and now “often speak."
